Rabbi Shmuel Zucker is one of those rare teachers who is able to form a kesher with everyone he meets. His students range from those who have never learned a single blatt of Gemara to Talmidei Chachamim. Every drasha and shiur he gives is unique, yet they all are infused with a great love of the Jewish people and desire to share the light of real Torah learning with all.
He has been called a “Rebbe for Life” and the “Embodiment of Avodas Hashem” by some of those who have learnt with him. His students are of a wide variety of ages and professions, and they live scattered around the world. Yet they all feel inspired by his teaching and his sincerity. Our hope is that through this website, people can access his insights regardless of where they live or how much time they have.
Rav Zucker currently resides in the holy city of Yerushalayim where his home and Shabbos table constantly attract individuals who are seeking greater spirituality. He draws on his many years at the Gateshead Yeshiva in England and the Mirrer Yeshiva in Jerusalem. He can frequently be found giving shiurim and working with students at Yeshivas Ohr Yerushalayim and Mevaseret Tzion where he is a Maggid Shiur and Rebbi. Rav Zucker counts among his teachers the Amshinover Rebbe and Rav Yitzchak Meir Morgenstern.
From young yeshiva students to older businessmen, his diverse students all will tell you that while the explanations and insights he gives of Torah are fascinating, it is from Rav Zucker’s life itself that they draw inspiration. He conducts his daily life with so much simchas hachaim, devotion to yiddishkeit, and love of the Jewish people that he has become a living inspiration to thousands from all walks of life.
One young man once approached Rav Zucker and nervously admitted that he had not grown up in an observant home and did not even know how to learn. Rav Zucker smiled at him and said “It’s O.K. because you have a Neshama, and that’s all that counts. Now let’s learn.” That interchange represents Rav Zucker’s warm, non judgmental approach that has inspired thousands.
